Hi Bjorn1985
The IMAQ RT Video Out feature is available only on systems that feature the i815 chipset or the i845 chipset. The currently the following devices are supported by this function:
| Device | Functionality |
| NI 8195, and NI 8196 | Does Not Support RT Video Out |
| NI 8184, NI 8185, NI 8186, and NI 8187 | Supports full functionality |
| NI 8175, and NI 8176 | Supports full functionality |
| NI 8170, NI 8156B, and NI 8140 RT Series | Does Not Support RT Video Out |
If you are using a PXI Controller that does support the RT Video Out functionality and you still can't see your images, you should try using the IMAQ Video Out Display Mode VI to configure the video mode before you attempt to display the images. This VI allows you to set the refresh frequency, screen area, and color depth. Note that if you are using a monitor that does not support high refresh frequencies, the images do not display correctly. Refer to the monitor documentation for information about supported refresh frequencies.
Hope this helps
Thanks

I've heard that NI is working on a driver for the (as yet) unsupported RT controllers.
Is this true, or just another urban myth?
If no video driver is forthcoming for the higher-end PXI controllers, what about a PXI video card? Sure, it would take up a slot in the chassis, but that would be a worthwhile sacrifice to get back to the video capabilities that we once enjoyed with the (now discontinued) 8187RT.
The Celeron-based controllers just don't have the horsepower for our application. And now that the 8187Rt is gone, that leaves us without any options. ![]()
Anyone have another suggestion...?
Cheers,
D.
