Visa Read - ADAM Advantech 4019

Hi,

I have an old computer with LabView 8 that works perfectly with ADAM 4019 connected to COM1 (Series RS-232). The problem is I want to replace this computer with a new one and when I run the stand-alone version (including the installer) the program runs without any error messages but it does not read anything from the Com1 port. I can read the data using ADAM utility software.

Can someone please help me find out how to fix this?

I am trying to understand the problem.

Are you sure that you are giving proper command and address?

To communicate with ADAM , command set should be correct.

Are you using VISA? Did you install VISA on the new computer? What's the error code you get?

What's the timeout time?

You may attach your read vi (jpg form or LV <= 2011, please).

Yes, the command is alright cause the program works when I run it on a computer with full LabView installed.

The problem was partly because I didn't include VISA on the installer and also that I was trying to run the standalone program of version 8 on a Windows 7. I changed to a 2011 version and it works perfectly.
