Look at terminal configuration in the task.  It will say either differential, RSE,  or NRSE  (for referenced and non-referenced single ended.)

I had it set at default, and I also changed it to RSE but that did not change anything.

One clarification question: when you're referring to the graph showing a constant, are you referring to a LabVIEW front panel graph, or are you referring to the DAQ test panels in MAX? I assume that those are avilable even in DAQmx Base?

I am referring to the Front Panel waveform graph.  DAQmxbase is not compatible with MAX.

Also, incase you're not able to take a look at my VI because it was created using DAQmxbase, here is a picture of my setup.

When you are getting the samples from the DAQ channel, why have you used the Nchannel Nsample vi when you only have one single channel ?
