When Sent Scientific Number to GPIB Device

Hi All,

When I send a number to GPIB devices, scientific number with positive & negative symbols (+/-) can not be recognised.

Only float number with +/- can be used here.

Postscript: all the numbers had beed transformed to string before sending.

Did anyone meet this problem before? I wanna the root cause.

The format of numeric inputs to an instrument is going to be instrument specific. That's assuming you are formatting it correctly in the first place. I would suggest you look in the instrument manual to see what it says. If the manual says that scientific format is supported, provide the make and model of the instrument. A link to (or attaching) it's programming manual would be nice as well as your code.

Thanks, the format of the number that can be recognised by instrument is the root cause.

And this one is under developing without any specification.
