Where is subvi nisync?

Solved!
Go to solution

Good Morning,

I am using Labview 8.6 on a PXI-1045 chassis, a PXI-6653 timing module and a PXI-6552 HSDIO.

I want to use the CLOCK OUT from the 6553, but I cannot find the PXI-6553 NISYNC subvi's.

Where are the  NISYNC subvi's?

I have done a search for NI SYNC on the functions pallete and they are not there.

Thanks,

Roger

Christian,

Thanks for the reply. I installed NI-SYNC 3.0. This is the CD that came with the purchase of the chassis and PXI-6653 module.

After installation, I still cannot find the library of NI-SYNC sub-vi's in the pallete menu.

After NI-SYNC installation, should the library of NI-SYNC sub-vi's be available from the function pallete menu? Because I cannot see the library of NI-SYNC sub-vi's. Where should the NI-SYNC library of sub-vi's be located at. I can see the PXI-6653 module from MAX and I can perform a RESET from MAX, but I cannot find the library of sub-vi's from Labview function pallete menu.

Thanks,

Roger

You should find them in the functions palette under the instrument drivers.

I checked in the functions pallete menu and the NI-SYNC subvi's are not there. I looked for the NI-SYNC device drivers and they are not installed.

By loading the NI-SYNC from the CD, should that have installed the NI-SYNC device drivers? I already loaded the NI-SYNC from the CD but the NI-SYNC device drivers are not installed.

If I already installed NI-SYNC from the CD, why are the NI-SYNC device drivers not installed and what can I do to install the NI-SYNC device drivers?

Thanks,

Roger

Do you see NI-Sync under Software in MAX?

If so, please post a screenshot of your Instrument Drivers Palette here.

Thanks,

Christian

Yes, I do see NI-SYNC under software in MAX.

In MAX under software, it says

Software - "NI-SYNC 3.0"

Version "3.0.0"

Description - "NI-Sync Device Driver"

Path - "C:\Program Files\IVI Foundation\VISA\WinNT\niSync"

I still don't know why the NI-SYNC subvi's are not in the pallete menu.

Thanks,

Roger

If you don't have the palette there:

then please re-install NI-Sync from the link I posted before.

Have you closed and restarted LabVIEW since installing the files?

I do not have the NI-SYNC in the Labview function pallete like you show.

I have already done a computer shutdown and restarted the computer after NI-SYNC installation, and still there is no NI-SYNC subvi's in the pallete menu.

I will try to un-install NI-SYNC and re-install NI-SYNC from the link you provided.

Thanks,

Roger
