That's good to remember and the article is a good one I'll keep in mind.
The problem has been resolved. There is a setup file that I wasn't aware of, one of the challenges of working somebody elses code. It's "labviewdaqcom2setup.exe". Ran it and the communication issues disappeared. Still have some debugging to do, but this problem is resolved. Thanks to all for your help, as usual I've learned a lot.
