Did you mean:

building an executable with many layered VIs

Hi Herbie

So after you included all the sub vi's under 'my computer' in the project file did you try rebuilding the executable and running it? Did it work?

hi

I have not had the opportunuty to try it yet because I was not sure that I had used the correct settings to enable the VIs to be accessed.  I will let you know how I get on.  Thanks again for your assisstance.

hi

I have tried to run the EXE on the target machine, no success. The error message says Visa open in compumtr jog.vi. Also when the programme has been stopped I can not enter any values into the front panel text boxes.  The un-built programme works, if ran on the machine containing LabView, so I am assuming that I have incorrectly set-up the build parameters in the project file. Please advise.

Hi Herbie

Does the error give an error code? Did you make an installer?

Also cpuld you attach the user.lib folder because vi's such as sub job 12800 2.1.vi are loctated there so i am unable to try and create the executable to recreate your problem.

Thanks

Hi Herbie

I have looked up that error code and it seems that you don't have the VISA runtime engine installed on you target machine. You will need to install this or include it when you create the installer for you executable. The link below gives details on the error code.

Can you try installing the runtime engine and see if it works after that and I will attemp to make the executable on my machine.

Thanks

Hi

Installing the VISA runtime engine seems to have done the trick. I also built the EXE with the contents of the S383 folder classed as dynamic or support files and installed to the support directory. So all in all I seem to have a working EXE. Please advise if you have any comments regardig the build.

Thanks

Herbie
