I have two cRIO-9014 that are exhibiting the same problem... the status led flashes twice every three seconds. According to the documentation this indicates that "The controller has detected and error in its software". I can configure the cRIO from MAX but can not connect to the device from the LabVIEW develoment environement. I've tried formating the cRIO, setting up the IP addrs etc and reinstalling the software with no success. Another thing I've noticed while interrogating the cRIO using MAX is that there is a VISA Error and a NI-RIO Error present under Devices and Infaces. Is there a solution to restore my cRIO's to their original state or would I have to send it back to NI to be repaired?

Hi Rob,
can you change the IP and restart your cRIO from MAX? Did you try to reinstall the software on thecRIO?

Hi Mike,
Yes I have changed the IP address and have rebooted the CRIO from MAX. I have reinstalled version 2.4 of the cRIO software all with no success. I can also FTP to the CRIO and view all directories and files loaded.

Hi Rob,
how do you try to insert the device into LabVIEW? Which LabView version do you use?

What Rev of 9014 Controller do you have? The later rev's require NI-RIO 2.4.1 due to a change in the Disk on Chip memory. Check out the following Knowledgbase:

Hi Basset Hound,
Thanks for pointing me in the right direction. Both cRIO's are working after loading NI-RIO 2.4.1. These cRIO's were shipped with version 2.4.1 installed but during the download of our application image the software was reverted to NI-RIO 2.4 cause the problems I was experiencing.
Thanks again,
Rob
