Florian and Paul,
i tested several combinations now with bitness and languages (english and german) but i cannot reproduce the issue.
What language are you running for Windows and LV?

Hi.
I run the german versions of both LV and Win7.

Odd, that combination works well here even with LV 2011 SP1 installed in parallel.....
But for testing, you might try to change e.g. regional settings.
Is the Windows a standard edition or is it modified by the companies IT department?

Thanks for the tip. I'll try that once I feel save (have to release sth. next week).
Windows is a standard edition.

Another thing which comes to mind:
What happens if you reset the LabVIEW.ini?

I have two development systems with this same behavior. One is running a "corporate" version of Windows 7 Enterprise and the other is running a generic Windows 7 pro.
I also tried resetting the LV.ini file. No effect.

If this means anything, I have been getting a windows popup that says "There was a problem sending the command to the program" when I try to open a program in LV2012. No explanation. Otherwis LV is running fine on both machines. This behavior just started as well. It could very well have started the same time I started seeing the drag and drop bug.

Florian and Paul,
do you have any specific toolkits/modules or non-NI components installed to LV?
What package of LV are you using (Base/Full/Pro)?

I have seen OS behavior where drag and drop does not work if an application is run with administrator privileges.

This fixed my drag and drop problem but creates another. I need admin privileges to write Excel files.
This is a bug.
