Whenever any alarms generate, a email will be sent to concern person.

Prashant, you need to learn to search. This question has come up MANY times, and has been answered MANY times. If you have problems with specific solutions, then post what your specific issue is.

Hi,

Is the router's port 550 (SMTP) opened ?

???  25 is the default SMTP port.

Hi guys I also tried to mail a small text messsage but came across with some error named ' SMTP:550 5.7.1 Unable to relay for '

How do I overcome this??

You are trying to use an SMTP server that's in a different domain than the "From" address.

What carrier are you using?

The 'email address' you use will be the following, where XXXXXXXXXX will be your cell phone number (ex. 1234561234)

Verizon:

XXXXXXXXXX@vtext.com

Sprint:

XXXXXXXXXX@messaging.sprintpcs.com

AT&T:

XXXXXXXXXX@txt.att.net

Alltel:

XXXXXXXXXX@message.alltel.com

This is just a small list, but it will be similar for all carriers.

Another ??? Where did you get the impression that the user was trying to call a cell phone? The OP asked how to send an email. While it's true that cell carries provide email addresses that can be used to send messages to phones, I certainly didn't read that from:

"Whenever any alarms generate, a email will be sent to concern person."

I think I misunderstood what he meant. I thought in addition to the email he wanted to send a text message, as in to a cell phone. My mistake.

Hi

Smercurio is actually very helpful in this forum. In fact he has over 10,000 posts helping people on the forums.
And he is not even paid to do so.

If he is criticizing someone's answer, he is probably right. In this case, I simply misunderstood because there is obviously a language barrier we are trying to overcome here. There is no need to get an attitude with people here.

Actually, 550 is a relay denied error, not the port number, so perhaps you should consider waking up and paying attention instead of being stupid by putting your foot in your mouth.
