Interesting. I didn't think you should FP.Open a VI that is already currently open, but that does also seem to work. That is another alternative to simply setting the window transparency.

 

More importantly, I tested the application after making these changes in all the places where I was closing Front Panels, and now the exe works perfectly! That was the problem.
