how do I unlock a vi that is password protected????

If it's your code in all rights, why not just bruteforce the VI?  ("Your" in this case being either you personally or the company you work for)

Brute force could work and is probably not considered "cracking" the protection mechanism. You should be ok and the Department Of Homeland Defense is not going to pull out your tonails and NI likely won't sue. My opinion only. If the password is not really long you could probably brute force with VI Server.

Well, we found an older version that I'm working with now to update to the current version and adding my items.
