how to simulate a CRO in labview?

Hm, i am now very confident that you dont know what "examplefinder" is. It is a tool installed with LabVIEW which makes browsing the examples ALREADY INSTALLED with LabVIEW very comfortable.
To use this tool, you have to select "Help" in the menu-bar. In the submenu, you should see an entry "Find examples". This starts examplefinder.
If you dont see this entry, there should be a grey bar at the bottom of the submenu with two downarrows in the middle. If you press on that bar, the submenu should show all entries, revealing the examplefinder.

good luck,
Norbert

thanks norbert,
I got ur point..i searched for examples in the examplefinder..perhaps i shud have put my question in a different way..maybe u could suggest me a topic for my project....The project is simulation using labview and it is totally software based. It is only one person sitting three hours a week-no hardware implementation involved.User interaction would be a better option.Outputs would be same as that of the instrument/appliance that i simulate..maybe a little modification would do me good...Please help me Norbert..can u suggest a topic to me?

regards

I just came across this thread and noticed you still had some question..  (sorry for the long delay).

Did you resolve the issue?  Were the examples useful?

thanks joe,
problem is i've just learnt labview-loops,structures etc. excluding DAQ. i saw many examples but i want to simulate something without daq. i want a good topic/idea for my project considering a time frame of 2 months...can u suggest something easy yet elegant for it?
thanks once again...

Do you have to interface to any hardware?  Or are you using any card (such as DAQ)?

Can you describe more what the project should include, parameters, etc?  We'll try to help you.

The idea of a CRO simulator is not a bad choice...  You would have to start by defining the objectives:  ie:  CRO being able to smaple and store signals up to freq X.  Then define and create a signal source (either external HW or simulated by SW)..  It's all possible..  The best way to proceed is to break down the project in smaller chunks.

If you are new to LV and want to get a jump start at good coding practice (or what NOT to do 😉  )  have a look at this thread.

Remember, do a project that is fun.. Learning LV should be fun..  You'll realize how powerful the language is, while doing a fun project..  🙂

You can simulate a cRIO by downloading the NI-RIO driver and from our website.  See this KnowledgeBase on Simulating a cRIO in Project Explorer.
