hello everybody,

Greetings from Chennai,India.

i am currently i am pursuing my BTECH degree in Instrumentation And Control Engineering. i am in the second year in a reputed college of the city that has a dedicated LabView lab.

i came to know about LabView through my professor.

i want to start learning LabView but i am  clueless about how and where to start it from.

i will be grateful i you all could prescribe any reference book or any other resources from where i can start my initial lessons of labView keeping in mind my qualifications. i am very keen on developing and learning more than will enhance my qualities as an Instrumentation And Control Engineer.

With warm regards,

jalashwa

Since you have a lab which presumably has computers with labview on them, I would suggest you block out some time and actually go to the lab. There are many example programs in Labview. They start from very basic to quite advanced. That is the best way to get started and they are free. NI also has some free "cources" on line that you can watch, I believe. You don't really need to purchase a book, etc.

One of the best places to start is to go through the introduction material, tutorial(s), and other material in the NI Developer Zone's Learning Center which provides links to other materials and other tutorials. There are also several Technical Resources. You can also take the online courses for free. There are also a few books out there, some of which have been recommended by others. You can check these threads:

The last link there has a link to the LabVIEW Book List: http://www.labviewwiki.org/LabVIEW_Books

There also tons of examples that ship with LabVIEW.

Plus, there's these forums. Read the threads. Try to come up with the solutions yourself after leaning a bit, and compare them with what has been posted.

Good luck! Smiley Wink
