That means, when you want to select vi you want to webcast, you just use "browse"?
Then how about your computer connection?
Is it two pc connect together, or your computer connect to network by using modem router or router?
Thanks for your help.

I unbound LabVIEW in my laptop from the firewall, but I still can not see the broadcast LabVIEW programming via Internet.

Hi Cynitha,

Are you trying to publish your VI to the "Internet" so that it can be accessed by computers outside of your local network?  (example: by another computer in a different building/city/country)

If so, then how you connect to the Internet is important.  Most people connect through a router.  This means that you need to point your users to your router/modem's IP address.  Not your local PCs IP address.  To find the IP address of your router, you can use this page.  (Or log into your router and look at the Status page)   What is my IP?

You'll also need to enable Port Forwarding on your router and map Port you want to use to your local PC's IP address.  This way when a request is made to your router, it is forwarded to your PC.  You will need administrator access to your router to make these changes.

Thanks for reply, Patrick.

I tried the basic function: to web publish and access the Web service on the same computer as the server: http://localhost/webservice/timer/2/5 but it failed again. I've checked my firewall. it allow labview 8.6 to go through.

http://my_IP_address/webservice/timer/2/5 did not work neither.

I've enabled IP forwarding on my router but I do not know how to map a Port to use to my PC's IP address.

I'm use Vista, could you please provide some suggestion on this situation?

Thanks

Cynitha

Hi Cynitha,

Try install labview run time engine (of the same version of labview) in your remote laptop / desktop where you want to publish your labview host front panel and try to connect it. I was also facing the same problems that you guys are discussing and after doing this I got rid out of. Hope this will work.

Thanks for suggestion, MRK.

I tried run-time engine and it went well, too 🙂
