labview test Q1

Interesting comment from someone who has posted a total of 6 (count'em 6) messages on the forum - none of which, by the way, communicate anything significant. Heck, most are barely comprehensible. Yet somehow you feel qualified to dump on people who have dedicated uncounted hours over the course of years to helping other get started. On this forum people have access to centuries of experience in how to use this tool.

One gentleman you deprecated (that means "put down" ) has a little shield with a "15k" in it next to his name. This means that he has posted over 15 thousand messages in support of other people - all without pay or compensation. But you get upset because he felt it was more important to help you learn how to learn, than to simply answer a question that you could have looked up yourself.

The certification processs is not an entitlement program. If you want a certain certification you have to earn it - they don't give them away.

Test Taker, I will answer your questions or get them answered.

Just Anthony, I am personally looking forward to seeing your answer, especially since it seems that you and TestTaker are one and the same person. 😄

You might not be very internet savvy yet, but one thing you should really take seriously because it will help you in many other situations is the following: If you want help, ask politely and don't mouth off and start throwing tantrums. You will not be taken seriously this way, as you probably noticed.

This is a professional forum about LabVIEW and we will answer all serious questions. If you just want to pass a LabVIEW test by memorizing answers and without having any tangible interest in LabVIEW, the bigger question is WHY??? How old are you? What are your goals in life? We are really concerned about your motivations.

This is not "Test-Anwers-R-Us-For-Dummies.com". 🙂

So, please, lets go back to discussing LabVIEW. If you have any other LabVIEW question, please ask. Otherwise, good luck on your test. 🙂

with less programming skills, ratrher than showing off how freaking
smart they are. If your arrogant, please do not help me. On the
other hand, with this tuff economoic situation, some folk may understand we
al need help of various sorts throught our lives. I do not know how to
work this board i do know the culture and I can make as man y threads as I
wnat to trach my issues. Noone makes the ruilkes here except NI, and
they toild me what I am doing is fine

It is fine that you ask the question. The way we answer is also fine. Isn't
"yes" the appropriate answer to the original question? Ok, it is small, and
perhaps a bit passive aggressive, but it is the answer. We didn't tell you
to get the hell out or something like "RTFM" did we?

The reason I didn't answer with "Hi, the answer is yes, regards" is that it
would probably be easy for you to find this answer. And by searching, you
would have learned a lot more. Also, recently had this exact same discussion
in another thread, and that might have biased some of your audience. So, as
you seem to have put minimal effort in finding the answer, you get a minimal
answer.

I also hopped that by giving a minimal answer, this thread would be
finished. Saddly, the opposite seems to be true.

I think it would be a great idea (if I say so myself) if there was a
separate forum for this?

Regards,

Wiebe.

Why not? He's just complaining about not being helped, while Dennis gives
him good advice, and I gave him the answer. What more does he want? What
more do you want?

> Since no one else seesm to be.

Well, I did. And very fast as well. What do you want me to answer to "I
think the answer is A, am I right?".

> Test Taker, I will answer your questions

When? So far, I am the only one that gave the answer to the question.

> or get them answered.

How? Or, more important: WHY? The question has been answered, and advice was
given as a bonus.

> I have not been drininking their KOOLADE

No. You've been drinking a much larger bottle... It probably wasn't
'koolade' either.

Wiebe.

Just in case someone doesn't know who Ben is refering to when he mentions the extra note and signature on his certificate from 'Jeff K'.

Does anyone wonder how this person got through school in the first place?

No, well at least not me. Engineering is one of those unique fields where we can't be taght all of the facts but rather we are taught how to think through answers to questions that have never been asked.

Memorizing all of the facts are fine for other lines of work but it does not work in engineering, otherwise I would get bonus points for remembering the PDP-11 instruction set.

I once asked an attorney what he learned in Law School. His reply was very interesting.

"Law School did not teach me all the answers. It taught me how and where to look for the answers."

That's my point. If this person(s) has been trained as an engineer, he or she is approaching the learning of LabVIEW in just the opposite way.
