You can't take it in directly from MAX as there is no straight connection between the two. However, if you're acquiring a video in MAX through one of your devices, you can do it through LabVIEW also. How are you reading in the images?

Thanks for your reply.

Currently i get an images from VCR player (a very long movie) connected with my frame grabber into my PC. With this connection I can obtain a clear images thru MAX. The problem is, I want to do a further signal processing using LabVIEW V7.1. I don't know how to retrieve the images from VCR player into LabVIEW. Can you tell me if there any specific VI that can be used to solve this task?

Well, that's good news! If you are acquiring the video in MAX, I assume this is an NI frame grabber? If so, you should also have VIs in LabVIEW that will do everything MAX does. They come with the NI-IMAQ driver. If you don't already see them in LabVIEW, then you may have installed LabVIEW after you installed the driver (so it didn't install the LabVIEW VIs), so you'll just want to reinstall the driver software. Once you've got those, you can do anything with LabVIEW that you can do with MAX.

Hi,

Yes I'm using NI frame grabber. I've installed the NI IMAQ driver that you mentioned before. Can you specifically tell me where I can find the VI to acquired an image from MAX.

Hi,
look in LabVIEW for the IMAQ GRAB examples.
That should give you an idea.
You CANNOT take a grab in MAX and push it to LabVIEW.
Unless you've got the NI-Vision development module, then you won't have the ability
to do any analysis (or view the image(s)).
The only thing you will be able to do is capture and save the images.

Hi Sacha,

I wonder why I cannot acquire image from my IMAQ PCI-1411. If you don't mind, can I send you my vi so you can have a look and tell me what's wrong with my vi.

cheers.

Hi,
sure - attach them here - are they based on a shipping example?
Have you looked at the developer zone for acquiring images?
Something like this one :
http://venus.ni.com/stage/we/niepd_web_display.DISPLAY_EPD4?p_answer=&p_guid=DC83A93253BB12B9E034080020E74861&p_node=DZ52506&p_rank=&p_source=External&p_submitted=N

Can you get any of the shipping examples to capture an image on your 1411 inside of LabVIEW?

Thanks

Hi,

I developed this vi with some help from NI represntative. I've look for some forum in NI developer and it can't help much. I failed to open the link that you gave me.
I can get an image from the frame grabber using HL Grab example.

Hi,

At last I can get the image from this vi. Thanks for your advice. But the problem now is I can't get the full image as I seen it from tv. Only a small part from the video was displayed in the labview.
