menu selections flash too quickly to select

Hey,

Noobie to Labview.  Convinced my Job to get enterprise 2009 and barely got through the install!  Not very encouraged.  When I start Labview and choose ANYTHING that involves a Block Diagram/Front panel all selection types (menu, right click, keyboard commands) flash by very quickly and disappear leaving me no time to select, much less read the item.  This pretty much shuts me down...

This behavior DOES NOT occur on ANY other software I have installed.

I am able to load examples and run Wizards in Labview but all I can do is look at them.  Trying to change values, other than interger increments, results in the 'quick flash' behavior.

As I alluded to the install was pretty rough with many  (25+) errors.  Called my NI sales rep and got the classic 'that shouldn't happen'.  Did the 'F' patch (130MB! that is a lot of bug fixes!).  Un-installed (which ALSO crashed several times) and re-installed with only one error.

Any advice?

Figured it out (I hope).  It seems that a NVIDIA 'nView Desktop Manager' (a 'fairly' useful gadget for resizing windows etc.) was causing the behavior.  I disabled it and can see menus etc.

Good luck with LabVIEW.  Come back to these forums often while you're learning.  You'll be able to find threads about almost questions you have.
