mulitplying voltages using Amplifiers

Hi,
 
Can someone suggest a circuit to me that produces an output voltage that is proportional to the product of two inputs.  I have some idea that comparators may be used to achieve the goal. A sketch would be gr8 🙂

Analog devices sells several analog multipliers. One is:
