nimxs hanging at system startup

Hi everybody,

the last few days, I realized, that after start up of my computer, nimxs.exe slows down the whole system by creating about 99% of the processor load..... after several minutes, I choose to kill the process via windows task manager. After that it's not able to start Max anymore. If I start nimxs.exe manually everything is fine again.....

I'm running on a laptop without hardware connected (apart from a simulated PXI 6251) having installes 7.1.1 in parallel to 8.20 (PC,RT,FPGA) using the driver disk Aug 2006.

Any ideas?

Cheers
Oli

Dear Oli

You could try to kill nimxs.exe, rename 'C:\Program Files\National Instruments\MAX\Data' folder (e.g. to 'Data2') and reboot ...

Hi Phillip,

thanks for the tip. Everythings fine right now; the simulted device has disapeared, but that's no problem.....

I'm curious.... what was the reason for this behaviour?

Cheers

Dear Oli

Can't tell for sure: might be you had leftovers of an earlier DAQmx installation on your machine, might be due to Shared Variables you used ...
