object specified is not creatable

Hi

I've got a problem with a VI that was delivered together with a laboratory tool (motorized flipper). That VI, which is used to controll the flipper, works on one machine where I have Windows XP, 32bit, however, on my other machine with Windows7, 64bit I get an error: 3005, "Object specified is not creatable in _.vi" on Automation Open.

Unfortunately, I'm a LabView beginner, and I don't really know what this Automation Open is doing. Something like establishing the connection to my flipper? Looking for the right AcitveX server

Maybe the problem is related to the difference between 32 and 64bit?

I already tried registering the .dll and .ocx that where delivered with the product. Put when doing that, another error occured: The module "C:\..." was loaded but the call to DllRegisterServer failed with error code 0x80040201.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Martin

Hi tinou,

it seems you're using an ActiveX object which is not compatible with you r other 64bit Windows environment. So it's not a LV problem, it's more a problem of the OS...

Best regards,

Thank you Gerd

That's one of my guesses.

Do you have an idea about how I could make it work?

Hi tinou,

AFAIK there are a lot of problems regarding ActiveX on 64bit OS - but I never used to work with such machines before...

Ask the vendor of your flipper as it's their device driver software!

Best regards,
GerdW
