Sheldon, unfortunately, the "powers that be" have stopped my use of the auto-hide option. I went without it for at least a year and I usually manage not to break down in tears over missing it... Smiley Sad

tbob, I know there was a fan game being planned, but I think it's been canned. I don't think Lucasarts have officially discontinued the series after MI4, but I don't see them rushing to make new ones. As a matter of fact, I can't say I see anyone rushing to make adventure games these days. If you want another very funny game, look for the Neverhood (around 1997, I think). It's not as sophisticated in its humor as MI (there's no talking), but it is very funny (and good for small kids as well). Another hugely fun option is Sam & Max hit the road (around '93), but that's not for kids (unless you want them to grow up to be animal-molesting homicidal maniacs).

In the same vein of the games mentioned above, Day of the Tentacle (DOTT) was another really fun game, probably a little more child friendly, if not historically blasphemous.  But the same sense of humor is there, as well as the same style of gameplay.

Unfortunately, DOTT was so "child friendly" (and I use that term with some caution), that it wan't nearly as funny as S&M or MI. It had some good lines and gags, but not like in the others, where pretty much every place you went to had something funny (and I mean funny).

If you want an amusing action game, you can try MDK (not MDK2, that was a terrible game). From the Bond style music when using a "hover board" to the "world's most interesting bomb", to the Batman style music\enemies\robot guards, it definitely had a unique sense of humor (even the name, which comes from Demolition Man). The only drawback to it was that to keep down on costs, they only made six levels, made them very long and didn't give you an option to save in the middle of a level, which was unfortunate.

I normally use alt-tab for task switching, (keyboard shortcuts are the way forward!), however in LV mostly everything is mouse driven. I am in the unfortunate position of only having one tab key on my keyboard (on the left as is typical), however as I am left-handed and use the mouse with this hand I would have to take my hand off the mouse, hit the tab + otherkey combo and then back to the mouse. It just seems a little inefficient.

The dinosaur PC I use at work would heave an die if I tried to use any XP-style task switcher!

Thanks for all your advice, peeps.

Here is a starting model (7.0). Note that it's set to run when opened and to have its FP closed when it's finished because I placed it in my menu.

Actually, this way isn't particularly convenient. I'm guessing that if there was a button on the toolbar which would open this it would be much better. A possibility I thought about is to build it into an exe and place a shortcut to it in the shortcut bar near the start button
