rslinx with labview

hi Can i connect an AB SLC 500(5/03)plc  through rslinx opc server with labview 7.1. i´m using rs232 df1 protocol and i want to use datasocket read and write vi´s.  Where can i find vi examples to read data from plc.  thanks.

i`ve read the info from the link, but i have a couple of questions.

1. can i get an read data if i dón´t have server explorer, lookout and dsc module?

2. is there any vi example showing how to write to the register?

3.i have to repeat step 16 to add registers to read and registers to write, the attributes are the some for both?

I thought you could from any connection, but now that I look at them, I guess it's only ethernet, and they are locked from editing.

I found some a while back while googling, but can't find the links to them right now - but I do remember that I was able to edit them and change the com, because I also wanted to use them with a 5/03.
