run executable after installation problem

I just delivered an installer to a customer for a program which has been giving me grief for quite a while.

The program uses Vision and LVOOP and all this in LV 8.20 (Customer will not switch to 8.2.1).

After fighting with the LV IDE for weeks to get the program finished, I thought I was nearly there when I created the installer and set the LV 8.20 vision runtime to execute after the installation....

Alas the installer seems to be called (A subsequent manual install reports that a previous installer is not finished) but is not displayed.

Is this a known problem? Should I just build the software in a different LV Version?  I would really NOT like to do this because it would mean the customer is not able to reproduce the EXE creation.

Shane.

In the "Additional Installers" category, you can have LabVIEW install the RTE and Vision (and any other NI drivers, etc.) for you.  Have you tried that yet?

That thought DID occur to me, but for some reason the VISION toolkit is not listed.....

Hi Intaris,

you might want to check this document which describes how to make the vision runtime available in the additional installers page:

http://digital.ni.com/public.nsf/allkb/061682584F47A8318625733E0079F9C1?OpenDocument

Let me know if this helped.

Best regards,

David
