svt power spectrum error

Hi Labview board,

I am trying to open a vi file w/ labview 8.2 (at one time our company used 7.2 as well as 8.0). When opening the file I am recieving an error message stating....

Labview: End of file encountered

The file 'SVT Power Spectrum (N Ch).vi' is not a valid LabView file.

I have ran this vi previously and had no errors while running the file. I have uninstalled 7.2 and 8.0 from this computer due to them being out of date since the last time the file was ran. Could this be the reason for recieving this error?

The only time I have seen that error is when a VI got corrupted. Do you have a back up of it anywhere?

Yes the vi I am running is the backup.

any ideas of how to fix the corruption? maybe replace the svt power spectrum in the block diagram?

Yes you need to replace it in the block diagram, but you need to replace it with one that isn't also broken. Is this VI one that you created or is this one that shipps with LV?

Yes the vi is one that one of our old employees created. I believe it was created with LV 8.0, before I start replacing the power spectrum, I am going to re-install 8.0 and re-open the file.

Ok, I have re-installed labview 8.0 and tried re-opening the VI, still getting the same error msg.

I am going to try to replace the svt power spectrum (N channel).vi in the block diagram.

Any other words of advice on this matter is appreciated.

Do you know what that VI is supposed to do? The next step is rebuilding it...

The vi file I'm opening is used for a vibration test on some of our products.

Like you suggested earlier it seems the SVT POWER SPECTRUM (N CH).VI is corrupted.

I am going to attempt to copy the same vi from the labview discs we have.

One other thought is that the name of the VI kinda-sorta looks like it might be a modification of an example VI. That could be another place to look for a start in the rebuilding.

here is the directory where the power spectrum is located

C:\Program Files\National Instruments\LabVIEW 8.2\vi.lib\addons\Sound and Vibration\svt_Baseband FFT

I have tried even deleting it inside of the block diagram and removed broken wires. This allowed the entire vi itself to be able to run ( power spectrum error was causing broken arrow, and it's not something vital to retrieving the vibration readings we want), but now I recieve a mod bus initilization error.

This is not going to beat me.
