I started to be unable downloading updates. I had similar problem with NI Update service about half year ago, it got solved then (ERROR: Errror updating Launch Condition Evaluator).
Now I see a different error msg:

Hello Blokk!
Does this error only occur on one specific machine, or on every machine in your network? Are outgoing connections blocked by a firewall?
Regards,
Georg

Hello,
The problem only occurs on one laptop (Win7 x64), even if I disable firewall (Bitdefender 2013). I have another laptop (also win7 x64) connected to the very same LAN, and it can perform updates without any problem.
When I started to encounter the problem, I had LabView 2012 on both machines. Since, I updated LabView to version 2013 on the non-problematic laptop. For my problematic laptop, I have licence for only LabView 2012, so I do not want to update it to 2013, but I would like to download and install patches automatically not manually.

Hi!
You can try to follow the troubleshooting steps in the following knowledgebases:

hello,
Actually I realized that, the NI downloader exe neither can reach NI servers. So probably firewall problem, even if I disable it? 🙂

I try the adviced steps, and soon back with results...
Even if I add the downloader exe to the Bitdefender exception list, or I turn off the Bitdefender firewall, I cannot connect.
So it is time to uninstall Bitdefender. If it helps, I will discuss this issue with the Bitdefender support.

hmm, I uninstalled the Bitdefender, and turned off Windows firewall...
Restart.
Unfortunately stucked, both NI updates and -downloaders still not working, no internet access looks like... But why only NI products have this problem on my laptop?? 😞

Hello Blokk,
I don't fully understand your last post. After disabling the security software on your computer, did you loose the internet connection completely?
10-16-2013 08:47 AM
No, I had internet access, all other software had access, except NI downloader and NI Update Service.
So strange...
I reinstalled the Bitdefender Internet security soft, since it was not the cause.
And I still do not have a working NI update.

Can you access http://www.ni.com and ftp://ftp.ni.com from your web browser?

yes, I can access both. Even I downloaded and opened a txt from ftp.
