I want to buy labview for my company but the diversity is huge. I think in the end it will be the price that matters most. therefore we will probably go for the base version. but there are several. labview base develment system and labview base packege. what's the diference?
It is inportant that we can make executebles to is this included in eny of the versions or should we get the labview application builder anyway?

Check the part numbers for each and I bet you will find they are two names for the exact same thing.
Heres a quick and dirty breakdown: LabVIEW Base Basic functionality (cant build executables) LabVIEW Full Adds on higher math functions such as FFT, curve fitting, fourier analysis, etc LabVIEW Professional Adds on ability to create executables and some large project stuff
While the application builder comes bundled with the Pro version it should be noted that the builder can also be ordered as a seperate toolkit so (if you do want the Base version) buy the builder add on seperately.
Heres a link which shows the different versions and what each includes: http://www.ni.com/labview/how_to_buy.htm#compare
And a link for the application builder seperate from labVIEW: http://sine.ni.com/apps/we/nioc.vp?cid=10731〈=US
You will be very pleased if buy the full version and mad at yourself if you do not. My suggestion is this. buy the full developement system with SSP. then you buy NI's application builder seperately and pay out the you know what for it or once you have purchased and installed Labview you can go to openG.org and download the commander and install there version of the application builder which in my opinion is much better and free.
Apperantly there is a free application builder... this is nice. but why shouldn't I buy the basic version?
The programes made will be for the production crew. My company used to use Testpoint but this is no longer up to date. I don't think we wil use eny of the features suplied by the full version often.
you will have to talk to openG support at openG.com and see what this means. have you already purchased labview and installed it. which version did you get.
ok I'll contact openG then. I have not decided yet. I now manage to get the trail and student version to see if my applications can be created in labview and if it is hard to do.
