why is there an error when i try to connect a control in the DO lines to NI Elvis writer under case structure?

So frm selecting the acquire signal, i will select Digital Input>Lines then select the channel right? I selected Port0/line0,port0/line1,port0/line8 and port0/line9..are these right?

I thought you only wanted one digital output related to your LED.  ??

If so, then just pick that one.  Such as Port0/Line 0 assuming that is the line your LED is wired to.

And why would you select a digital input if you wanted to turn an LED on or off? You need an OUTPUT to do this.

Because my overall circuit has a 555 timer. So i put the DIO to the trigger and the LED to the output of the IC. So now, im trying to do make a connection where i can compare the DIOs.
