write data to rslinx opc server

hi, is there any example of how to do that, or someone have a good advice to do that. i want to activate an output in plc slc500 ,is it posible or i have to write the data a variable(n7:0 for example)

IF I DONT HAVE LOOKOUT I CAN DO IT? IHAVE LABVIEW 8.6, DSC 8.6 AND LINX GATEWAY.

IS THERE ANY OTHER TUTORIAL THAT EXPLAIN HOW TO PUT AND CONTROL TAGS IN LABVIEW

I CAN READ THE INPUTS FROM THE PLC IN LABVIEW, BUT HOW CAN ACTIVATE AN OUTPUT FROM LABVIEW TO THE PLC.?
