Background color bug?

The customized background color of CVI often get lost.
I don't like the white background.  So I changed it to black.  But CVI often changes it back to white without my approve.

Where CVI save the background color information?  I'd like to make a backup copy.

I'm using Vista 32bit version.  CVI 8.1.1

Hello George,

CVI stores its color information in the registry.  You can find the key for CVI 8.1 at HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\National Instruments\CVI\8.1\ColorPreferences.  I hope this helps.

It seems this trick doesn't work for CVI 8.5.   Any idea?

Hey George,

That is interesting behavior.  For CVI 8.5, I am assuming you are making a backup copy of the entire HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\National Instruments\CVI\8.5\ColorPreferences folder.  I am also believe that you may have multiple versions of CVI on this computer.  What happens if you merge the color preference folder into all of your CVI versions?  I look forward to hearing back from you.

Hello Zou,

after you change your CVI colors and restart CVI, do the new colors persist? If so, then it would seem like a Windows problem where the registry entries are not saved correctly.

Best regards
