CVI For Linux

I would very much like to see CVi running under Linux. I am sure that Linux has a lot to offer in terms of robustness and reliability. I am always facing the questions of reliability when defending my PC based applications to PLC based systems. Yes for CVI for Linux!

Thanks for your input on this. Currently, we are just monitoring demand , but at this time, we have no plans of porting CVI over to Linux.

Thanks

Perhaps National Instruments should send out an email
survey to all registered users for a better idea of CVI demand. I know I would vote for it!

-Thanks,

I would be quite interested in CVI for linux, as we have a couple of customers who are heavy users of Sun
Workstation where we have developed/supported some of their apps in CVI. They now wish to move away from Sun hardware, but the cost of rewriting everything for Win32 is quite high, so CVI on linux would be good if it minimised the rewriting. Come to think of it if we
are running openlook on a sun and openlook on linux box it can't really be that big a job to port it across can it?

Hi all,
I would also like to see CVI on Linux. I agree. Probably NI should conduct a survey to see how many are interested in this. I am sure there are lot of people out there who want to see CVI on linux.
cheers

I agree! A survey is definitely in order. Try searching the posts. People have been asking for CVI on Linux for years now.

I would love to see Linux support. Windows is very poorly suited for our task, and a Linux port would be ideal!
