Can CVI 8.0 develop an application that will run on 95 NT or XP?

Is it possible to use the CVI 8.0  IDE and end up with an application/distribution that will run on win95 or winNT or 2000 or XP?  I am happy to compile each version differently or use a different library or whatever is needed. I just want to know if that is possible - and if it is, how might I go about doing it.

thanks in anticipation.

As already stated in this forum, cvi is not granted to work on Win9x environment from version 7 on: it may work or not but it cannot be predicted for sure. Look at this thread for more reference.

Proud to use LW/CVI from 3.1 on.

Also, note that as of version 8.0, Windows NT is no longer officially supported.  This means that 8.0 only supports 2000 and XP.  The CVI 8.0 distribution kit builder also imposes this restriction on built installers.

Thanks Guys, I am aware of the CVI 8.0 2000/XP limitiations, I also have ver 5.5 and ver 7.0 and thought that there might be a sneaky way to produce an application for each of win95, NT & XP.  Does that mean I can still seperately use ver 5.5, 7.0 etc to develop these unique operating systems, but I cant in anyway do a simpler application build or run-time library 'paste'?

Hello Murray,

I would take a look at Luis' comments in the following post.  Basically, you might be able to manually zip up your files and the runtime engine and copy them to the appropriate location on the target machine, but we cannot guarantee that all the libraries will work on Window 95/98/NT machines.

Thanks
