Trying to support old equipment and software. I want to port existing LabWindows 3.1/CVI application (CVI runtime 3.1a, NI-VXI Ver. 1.3 for VXIpc-486 model 599) to VXIpc-486 Model 740, CVI Runtime 4.0, NI-VXI 1.5).
I generate an executable on a development machine then manually copy the executable to the target VXIpc. The application works on the Model 599 machine but crashes on the Model 740 machine which has a different CVI runtime (ver 4 instead of ver 3.1a) and has a different ver NI-VXI (ver 1.5 instead of ver 1.3). I was wondering if I could change the NI-VXI library files on my development system to target the newer version (1.5) required on the Model
740 computer.
That also requires that the CVI 4 runtime be backwardly compatible with the CVI 3.1a runtime. Any thoughts here.
