DAQmxWriteCtrFreqScalar() returns DAQmxErrorCannotUpdatePulseGenProperty (-200301) every once a while

I'm curious: does DAQmxWriteCtrFreqScalar() not use/ignore the timeout DAQmx_Val_WaitInfinitely, then?

I'd assume that DAQmx_Val_WaitInfinitely makes the function actually try and retry until it can update the counter and not just try once (?) and thus occasionally fail. Especially with low frequencies around 1-10 Hz.
