LabWindows/CVI read/write via parallel port in windows7 64 bit

Is it possible to communicate via parallel port in 64 bit Win7 with applications created in LabWindows CVI?

According to this forum post the low level functions inp and outp will not work with 64 bit... BUT it has been suggested that it might work with VISA
