Run-time box in middle of screen

Solved!
Go to solution
For some reason I get this RunTime box in the middle of the screen I am in DeBug Mode in 8.1.0 LabWindows/CVI. in the many systems I have built for the lab at least 2 have this annoying box that pops up when CVI is launched. if clicked on to close or terminate, CVI is terminated. Does anyone know how to fix this?

Hello,

Do you get the window when you run in release mode? What commonalities exist between the two programs that exhibit this behavior that set them apart from your other programs?

Yes, when I run a released (.exe) program on this PC (one that requires the CVI RTE) the little annoying box come back...  on all the other stations I have 8.1.0 loaded on this does not occur, even using the same program.

Hello Asic,

just letting you know that I am dealing with the same problem. On some systems the box is there, on most systems not. Even with the same CVI application. When the user closes the box, the application just quits... Smiley Sad

This window is part of CVI, and part of the CVI run-time engine. Normally, it is displayed well off-screen, and can't be activated, therefore no one would ever be aware of its presence. The most likely reason why it might be visible in your case would be if your video adapter has an option to move off-screen windows into the visible area of the monitor. If you can, I would suggest that you modify this option in the video adapter to not do this for CVI (I'm assuming that it allows you to specify applications for which you don't want this feature). If that's not possible, then disable this option altogether. CVI will probably change in the future to not require that this window exist, but until then, the only solution is to disable the option.

Thanks Luis,

You are correct.... this is a DUAL monitor system, all of my systems are Dual monitor so I guess if I position my monitors in the correct configuration, this box would be off screen...
