Very slow program execution without (unused) USB-Stick on DELL-PCs

Hello,

we have a general problem, if our LabWindows V8.1 Software under XP  is executed on DELL-PCs (without USB-Stick; there are no function used by/with the USB-Stick). Program executions time is about 10 times slower, if the USB Stick is inserted. With inserted USB-Stick, program execution-times are ok.

With any other PC, an inserted USB-Stick does not cause this problem.

Any help would be appreciated.

Do you have ReadyBoost enabled for the USB-Stick (Microsoft ReadyBoost)? I've never used this functionality before, but I suspect that it is possible for this to have a negative impact on your system performance.

thank you very much for your help, but the problem still exists. Our customer still uses a USB-Stick in order to run his program.
