DPDT Switch

I need to make a DPDT Switch under Lookout. I have been trying to create an
inverter and then connect to it, but I've hade no luck. I'm missing something
simple, but someones help would be great.

Mark,
I might be wrong about this, but couldn't you use the radio button object
to get the functionality of a DPDT?

Sincerely,
Brian Thies

You're probably right, but I want the Graphic effect of the switch Icon for
the user interface. I have tried to build a logic inverter to connect to
the switch with no success. I'm sure it can be done, but I am lost. Any Ideas?

Hi,

Am I missing something here or could you make a DPDT switch out of 2 normal
switches, just remote one to the other?

If they are remoted together, their status will be the same at any point.
I need a unique "high" in each position to trigger one event in the first
position and another event in the second position. Keep trying guys. Thanks
again, Mark

Ok, can someone explain the exact behavior of a DPDT switch? Some of us are
more into software these days and need a refresher!

Thanks much!

DPDT = Double Pole Double Throw. Basicly, the common wiper is moved between
two differant contacts. Example: Position #1 (Down) turns on a light, Position
#2 (Up) turns on a fan. My application is to switch a sector motor to its
"A" or "B" position with one toggle switch. (We don't want to confuse the
operators........)
Thanks, hope this helps, Mark

With a single Switch, you need to turn on two different things (when the Switch
is in two diff positions), right? In that case, you use the "Switch" output
for one and the "!Switch" output for another.

The exclamation sign "!" inverts the signal. So your connections would now
look like:

Motor_A = Switch1
Motor_B = !Switch1

Let us know if this works!

Khalid 🙂

Thanks for the help, I figured it was something simple. I'll try it and let
you know. Again thanks, Mark.

This was a great tip, but I'm having trouble using it. I edit the .lks file
to put the invert sign (!) into the string, but the application doesn't read
the new file. I have edited the .lks file first (and saved it) then opened
outlook and the application. The app. doesn't acknowledge the change. I have
changed graphic info, ie: size of an indicator, and the app. doesn't acknowledge
it either. Any ideas?

Thanks, Mark.
