Driver for VesaMax Ethernet Adapter for a GE341

Hi Joe,
It makes sense that you can see addresses R1-2048 from the GE341 as those are available on the VersaMax object in Lookout. I'm working with R&D to see how difficult it will be (if at all possible) to add in more registers to the VersaMax driver so that you can see all of the GE341 registers. I will keep you posted of what I find.

Hi Joe,
After further research, I’ve found four options you can try to resolve this issue. Which of these is the best option depends on how flexible your system can be and how much time you can put into integrating a solution:
1) Use another PLC such as the GE364, which we know works with your system, in place of the GE341.
2) See if there is another OPC server that you could use to communicate with the GE341, VersaMax, and Lookout. GE may have an OPC server that is better for talking to their PLC's.
3) Use the Lookout Object Developer's Toolkit to modify the VersaMax driver. You can read more about the Toolkit at http://sine.ni.com/apps/we/nioc.vp?cid=12524〈=US
4) We could escalate this issue to the development team. To do this, you should contact your local sales representative by going to
http://sine.ni.com/apps/we/nicc.call_me?p_action=country&p_lang_id=US
and following the instructions to contact the sales team.

Hi Marcus;

I've been having trouble in getting in contact with my sales person (Russell Hanselman), either I miss his call or he's busy when I call. Is there anyway I could go through you to the R&D team for a driver? Also, is there going to be a cost for this service, if so can you give me a estimate? Thanks again for all your help and have a good weekend.

Joe

Hi Joe,
National Instruments doesn't typically do consulting work or code development for individual customers, but there are many NI Alliance members who will provide this service at a cost. For more information about our Alliance members, go to www.ni.com/solutions and click on "Alliance Program". If you feel that driver development is the best solution for your system, then you can purchase the Lookout Object Developer Toolkit I mentioned in my last post. Another option is to post a product suggestion. You can do so by going to www.ni.com/contact and clicking on "Feedback". Hopefully one of these options will suit you.
Thanks again for contacting NI,
