Lookout Users,
One of the Lookout suggestions is to enable the ODBC logging which makes it possible to log data to any 3rd party database through ODBC. I want to use this thread to get more feedback from you.
Do you think you will benefit from this feature?

Ryan,
I think if I could log to something common like Microsoft Access it would be a help to me in managing database backups and other things, as Citadel is somewhat unique in its format and methods using the Measurement and Automation Explorer. Maybe I could retrieve data from a 3rd party database back into Citadel if Citadel DB becomes corrupted or lost.
I don't use ODBC logging now, so please excuse me if I come across as lacking in understanding your request. Could the hypertrend or other objects be programmed to log and/or retrieve data to and/or from the 3rd party ODBC database as well?

Yes, this could be usefull in instances where bringing other applcation data into Lookout for common databasing, query or display is not desired yet the other database could use earmarking from info in the Citadel.
I can only think of a couple instances where I would probably implement this now for ongoing Citadel data export. If historical merge would be available, that would be a real bonus.

Ryan,
Would be a definate yes from me. Citadel is not reliable enough for our systems. While the system is based partially on SQL Server (Express), it causes random slowdowns and corruptions.
