alarms not displaying in alarm window

I have a couple systems displaying the same problem. After running for a while (sometimes an hour, sometimes a day) legitimate alarms no longer show up in the alarm window. Both systems are Windows XP Professional with Lookout 5.0. Usually after re-booting the PC a few times the alarms show up for a while again.

I need to know what it is that governs the alarm display, and what I can do to fix this.

I have confirmed the database path settings are correct.

I have confirmed that the computer name specified in Lookout matches the computer name specified in Windows.

I have confirmed the process is selected under the Alarms menu.

I have the confirmed the alarms filtering is set to Alarms Only, and I'm sure none of these change after running the PC for an hour or so.

Any further ideas?
