I have just purchased 6.6 development. I had built a process on 6.5 development software that was the 30 trial. Now that the customer has gone ahead with this project, I can't load the process that was built on the 6.5 to the 6.6. I keep getting a error of:
file.14p was created by an older version of Lookout. Please recompile it by opening the source file .lks"
I can't get any further than this. I would appreciate any help in getting this solved. Thanks in advance.

When you go to open the file in 6.6, click on the "files of type" and change to "lks" files (see attachment). After your file is compiled and loaded then save it.

Thanks for the quick reply....but....it still doesn't work. Here is what happens now. When I change the file of type from .14p to source files .lks, the main file dissappears. Don't know what to make of that. If at all possible, I would sure like to send this to you or someone to figure it out...Any thoughts??? Jim

If no file appears when you switch to "lks", then you do not have a "lks"file. You would have to open your "l4p" file in 6.5, save it, which would create an "lks" file. Then, open that "lks" file in 6.6 which would be compiled into a 6.6 "l4p" file.

Ok, so this is where I am at now. I have downloaded the development 6.5. But can't activate it because there is no serial number that comes with it. Right off the NI site. Now what? Very frustriating thing to be doing on a Saturday. I don't get very many days off. Any Ideas???? Jim

Lookout 6.6 cannot open .l4p files created by an old version of Lookout (e.g. Lookout 6.5). However, it can recompile .lks files created by an older version of Lookout, into a .l4p file of Lookout 6.6 format.
So you need open the l4p file in Lookout 6.5, and save it as another file. After that you can see a .lks file in the saving directory. Finally, open the lks file in Lookout 6.6. Everything should be fine!

Problem is, My 6.5 30 day evaluation has run out. I can't open it to run it. What a mess.

Install Lookout 6.5 30 day evaluation on a new machine or virtual machine (http://www.vmware.com/), and compile those lks files. Good luck!
