Paul,
Thanks for the reply. As to the cable length, I think it's just a 6'
25D / 9D factory terminated on both ends. I could try a different
cable to eliminate that as a problem. The settings (from memory. I'm
not with the installation at the time) were:
Laptop with Win98 Receive gap 80 RTS 20 CTS 100
On the new unit these settings resulted in no comm what so ever. I
think I had the settings up to 500, 300, 500 or so before anything
started coming in good. We adjusted this some, give or take 100ms
without alot of effect one way or the other.
Can these be set too high? I assumed that high settings would only slow
down the overall process a little. That isn't a major problem sense
we're just filling water towers.
Do I need to try adjusting the settings more?
Is there anything to the XP vs. Win98 issue that could be causing this?
What puzzles me is the way it'll work fine for hours on end and then stop without any reason that seems apparent.
Thanks again, MC
