Why don't you want to use Vision Assistant?

The other way I think, maybe will be using an example as Grab.vi, and make changes on the camera seeing the changes on the screen.

Can you tell me why you don't want to use Vision assistant? I am curious
I think an option can be to use a LabVIEW example as grab.vi and see on "life" the changes you are doing.

You can do the same operations with the calibration VIs in vision development module.
