Difference in calibration of a line scan camera and a matrix camera

Hello

we are using line scan cameras and matrix cameras in an application and we want to calibrate both. We made a research on the web but we did not find out if there is a general difference in calibrate a line scan camera and a matrix camera.

Does anyone know if there are difference?

Thx

Hi oz_68,

as you surely know, in general a linescan camera has one row of sensors, not a complete matrix. The lines are continuously fed to a computer that joins them to each other and makes an image. In general the images acquired using machine vision cameras could appear distorted owing to perspective errors and lens aberrations. This distortion misplaces information in an image, but it does not necessarily destroy the information in the image. In such cases, you need to calibrate your imaging system to compensate for perspective errors or nonlinear lens distortion. A specific linescan camera and matrix one might have diefferent calibration needs depending on the specific type. Exactly which types of cameras would you like to calibrate?
