Hi aukland,
IMAQdx 3.4 (Vision Acquisition Software 2009) and later will support USB devices that are DirectShow compliant. Here is in DeveloperZone article with a bit more detail.
Here's a excerpt that you would probably be interested in: DirectShow is currently most popular method of supporting image transfer via the USB bus, and a number of USB device manufacturers use the DirectShow framework such as Lumenera, IDS, Point Grey, Logitech, and Creative.
I hope this helps!

Thank you for your help 🙂
Do you know what models in Logitech or Creative that have such DirectShow Framework built in? any suggestions?
Cheers

auckland,
If you're looking for a simple webcam rather than something industrial, I highly recommend the Logitech Webcam Pro 9000. It has great drivers (it even can make use of the UVC video drivers built into Windows or Linux, although you lose some functionality compared to Logitech's). It has a decent 2MP sensor that can be windowed to a variety of resolutions and frame rates, and a good lens for a webcam (with a true auto and manual focus controlled via software).

auckland,
Can you give more details about what your code looks like? Perhaps a screenshot? Can you acquire from the camera in MAX? Can you run any provided examples?

auckland,
If you are using IMAQdx you can go to the Example Finder under Help and find a bunch of IMAQdx examples. Nearly all should work with your USB camera.
