Hello all. I'm doing a bit of research before purchasing a camera for my particular application... I'm designing a stereovision set-up to monitor the 3D movement of something the size of a house-fly.
I've been using this NI article to help me consider the specs of various cameras, with the goal of finding the right set-up that can reasonably resolve a small object the size of a house-fly: https://www.ni.com/en/support/documentation/supplemental/18/calculating-camera-sensor-resolution-and...
My question (forgive my potential newby-ness): do the calculations referred to in the above article (i.e.: the relationships between depth of field, FOV, image resolution, sensor size, working distance, etc.) differ at all between CCD and CMOS sensors? If so, how do I adjust the calculations for the different sensor types? Additionally, any literature for computing image resolution, like that of the above article, is worth mentioning.

Hello,
you can find the fundamental differences between CMOS and CCD easily online. That said, the calculations are based on geometrical relations, where imaging from "object space" to "sensor plane" is performed. So, the calculatons do not differ.
