Is it possible to switch a cvs 1458 wes7 to a Linux RT?

Is there a Linux RT image that I could simply installed on the CVS instead of the WES7 image?

Thank you,

Patrick

Hello Patrick,

There is no easily process for switching from WES7 to Linux RT on our embedded targets. I strongly recommend you contact your regional NI sales representative to discuss your options.

I wanted to know if afterwards we could do it by our own, without any exchange.

My local reprensentative said we could change it if it's before 30days of purchased.

i want to know if we can do it with RT images or thing like that.

Hi Patrick,

As Earl mentioned, there is no easy process for switching between WES7 and Linux RT on our embedded targets.  May I ask why you will need both operating systems?  My recommendation is to use only one operating system if possible, otherwise you can use two separate targets.

Hi,

Thanks for helping.

Just to clarify, I don't want to use two OS. I want to know if I can format my WES7 CVS 1458 and install a RT Linux 64bit Image instead.

I thought the CVS 1458 was physically the same "machine"....

Thank you,

Patrick

They are physically the same hardware, yes, but I think there are differences at manufacturing time between the two units (various firmware pieces and such) that would make it tricky to swap back and forth. It is not a use case that NI explicitly designed for and supports. I'd discuss your needs with your local sales person and see if they can find a solution to accomodate it.
