Laptops with Intel Pro nic for GIGE Camera

Hi All,

looking for a laptop with Intel pro card built in. My current HP HDX laptop has does not have one. I could not find a express card network card that is built on intel chipset (only could find a marvell yukon Chip). The nic on the laptop and express card nic are gigabit but I can not acquire with them. Does anyone know of any laptops that has nic based on Intel pro 1000 chipset? Has anyone had luck using GIGE cameras with not intel pro cards? I have no problem using the camera with desktop that had intel pro 1000 nic.

1. I'm not personally aware of laptops with Intel pro 1000 built in.   ... but of course that doesn't mean they don't exist...

2. But one should be able to get images with a wide range of NICs;   that I do have experience with;  but often at slower framerates and/or higher CPU loads.   It seems odd that you cannot acquire at all with your NIC;  I would have expected that you could acquire - just at sub-optimal performance.

Got it to work with Non Intel NIC. The issue was firewall. I am running windows 7 and our company domain policy is turnoff firewall if inside the domain, and it was turned off but only on the mic that was connected to the domain. The nic that was connected to GIGE camera was unknown network and all incoming data was being ignored. I could not turn off the firewall but was able tell it to allow incoming data and now I can even use jumbo packets.
