Line scan camera

My objective is to detect ID surface defects in a circular object.Hence i am using a line scan camera.I am almost getting the image i expected.I am getting straight lenghthened image of the circular object. But i am not getting it evenly.I am getting random curves and shakes and i am sure the rotation is even with an error of +/- 50 microns(I am using a sensor as well).Any suggestions

Hello muks,

Check out the KnowledgeBase article entitled How Do I Use Analog Line Scan Cameras with NI-IMAQ? and view the troubleshooting tips. This goes into detail about noisy images acquired by line scan cameras. I hope this helps 🙂

Hi,
The above link seems not working now. Do you have an updated link?
I was searching at how to run a VI to test a line scan camera

Hi Muks,

Is your VI synchronized to the hardware? I worked with line scan cameras multiple times. I had very nice images.

Can you describe your system better?

1. What sensor do you have. Are you sync to the encoder?

2. What is the frame rate and rotation speed?

3 . What hardware do you use?
